Military Assistance Mission, a.k.a MAM is hosting it's first annual virtual Move-A-Thon. Participants are encouraged to get moving by running, walking, working out, dancing, etc for 154 minutes per week or 22 minutes per day.
Why 22 min/day? Sadly, every day 22 veterans give up hope and commit suicide. Studies have shown that exercise can have a significant impact in helping those individuals struggling with depression, stress, PTSD and anxiety.
By no means do we believe that exercise for 22 minutes per day will solve this issue. We do believe that it can help get individuals moving, hope to raise awareness, and support military families. Will you join us?
Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Register - Sign up as an individual or a team and commit to a fundraising goal.
2. Fundraise - Create a Facebook fundraiser and share it with your friends. (This is NOT required to participate if you do, we have goodies for you!)
3. Move -Get moving for 125 minutes or more each week of the event. Keep daily/weekly progress and share the grand total at the end.
